If Word or PowerPoint files do not open on your computer, it may be because Microsoft 365/Office 365 is not installed. Follow these steps to install the apps:
Go to www.office.com, and sign into your Fortis account.
On the Office 365 Dashboard, select Install Office (top right). Click the drop-down and Office 365 apps.
This begins the Office installation.
If you see the prompt, “Do you want to allow this app to make changes to your device?”, select Yes.
The installation is complete when you see the phrase, You're all set! Office 365 is installed now.
To activate your Office 365 account, open Word, sign in with your Fortis student email/password and complete the prompts.
